You can even play on user-generated maps which is fantastic as some of them are very cleverly designed and they add seemingly endless replay value. In addition to the single player campaign which is brimming with super-fun challenges, Prodeus can be played cooperatively with up to 4 online players as well as competitively with up to 16. Oh, and the sense of exploration is superb complete with an intuitive map and loads of goodies scattered around for good measure. I'm also happy that the enemies are dastardly aliens because who would care about massacring them? The variety of guns is also awesome and I always loved picking up a wide variety of ammo only to hurl whatever I had on-hand at the enemy forces ahead. As someone who usually doesn't like video game violence, it's so ridiculous here that I actually enjoy it a great deal. Now, it should be mentioned that Prodeus is an over-the-top violent game with massive explosions of blood whenever you blast an enemy to smithereens. Needless to say, when I booted up Prodeus, it brought me back to these innocent times and I had a great time exploding all sorts of grotesque alien creatures in its lengthy campaign. Anyway, I had a lot of fun playing these games with friends even though I absolutely suck at the genre and much preferred playing Bomberman for my competitive fun back then. I wonder what the parents would have thought if they knew he did this. I remember when my computer teacher would set up LAN parties so his students could enjoy a game of Doom together every once in a while which was very cool of him. I must admit I've never been a big fan of first-person shooters.
